All the best multiplayer games in the modern age, from survival games like Ark: Survival Evolved to RPGs like Genshin Impact, live and die based on their player count. With a battle royale like Apex Legends where you need a lot more players for a match than a traditional multiplayer game, you would assume it is a cross-platform game. Those who played early on may know that this wasn’t true, but what about now? There have been years of updates, but was cross-platform support ever introduced?

Unlike some games with cross-platform support like Valorant, Apex Legends does not keep PC players separate from those on consoles. However, if you do feel you are at a disadvantage because of your platform, you can turn crossplay off at any time.

Apex Legends also features full cross-progression. Any cosmetics and player progression you make on your account can be picked up and used on any supported platform with nothing lost in the process. Just log in with the same EA account and you will be good to go.

It’ll cost $10 to roll over your Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp save

Nintendo has finally revealed Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, the paid version of its long-running Pocket Camp mobile game that'll be the way to play after the company takes the older game offline.

While the seven-year-old free-to-play title will be removed from app stores on November 29, players can pay a onetime fee to roll over their progress and most of their data to Complete when it launches on December 3. This is a big break from tradition. Usually, when a game is taken offline, it's gone. At best, previous owners can still play it offline; at worst, it's unplayable forever unless it's pirated or emulated.

Is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 cross-platform?
A squad stands together in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Despite not every game in the franchise being one of the best Call of Duty games, entries are always among the bestselling games of the year. Thankfully,  Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 looks like it will be a return to form for the iconic shooter franchise, especially when it comes to multiplayer.

With competition in the shooter space being more fierce than ever thanks to free games like Apex Legends and XDefiant, Black Ops 6 will need to make sure it doesn't give players any reason to skip it. One major pothole it needs to avoid is not being a cross-platform game and only letting players compete with others on their own systems. This is the first entry released since Activision was purchased by Xbox, and while it will still come out on all platforms, will Xbox shut off cross-platform support? Here's what we know about Black Ops 6 cross-platform support.

League of Legends’ latest champion is from Netflix’s Arcane
Key art for Arcane's Ambessa in League of Legends.

The second season of the Legend of Legends animated Netflix show Arcane comes out next month, and Riot Games plans to celebrate that in League of Legends itself. Namely, it will add Ambessa Medarda, a character introduced in the show, as a new champion as part of Patch 14.22.

You might recall that Ambessa is the matriarch of the Noxian Merdarda family who first appears partway through the first season of Arcane to advise her daughter Mel. After Jinx's attack on Mel and the rest of the Piltover council at the end of the first season, it seems like Ambessa will be on a path of vengeance in the show's second season. Riot Games believes that she's a compelling enough character to bring over to the game that inspired Arcane, with game designer Max Perlman saying that the show gave the developers a "jumping off point to eventually find the center point of her kit," in comments provided to Digital Trends.
